A bit of history of the club
This golf course was built in 1974 and was called “Nuevo Sotogrande”. And part of a design of the architect Robert Trent Jones.

The Guadiaro Estuary Trail in Sotogrande

The entire route follows the natural area of the Guadiaro River estuary and a central island formed by the sediments carried by the river. This place is the only humid zone that has the oriental coast of Cadiz. It also contains a rich variety of birds. Ospreys, spoonbills and flamingos can often be seen.
In the summer months, due to the migratory routes, the transit of birds is continuous and up to 140 different species are counted. As for aquatic animals, the lamprey is the most important.
The vegetation is also typical of wetlands, although it is dominated by reeds. However, in areas that are not flooded, some wild olive trees are interspersed with gorse and brambles.
